HALL OF FAME
The Moss Point Sports Hall of Fame (MPSHOF) named its inaugural class of honorees in July 2023.
This first group included sixteen graduates from the pre-1970 era when there were two high schools in Moss Point. Eight of the pre-1970 honorees were Magnolia High School graduates and eight were graduates of Moss Point High School. Selecting the inaugural class was a difficult job. In some cases, players who went on to participate at the highest levels of professional sports were not among the 21 named to the class. So, we have a lot more work to do over the coming years to recognize and honor our Moss Point sports heroes. And that’s exactly what we intend to do.
There are many years of celebrations yet to come. We hope you will join us.
A candidate may be nominated for membership in the Moss Point Sports Hall of Fame by anyone in the community.
The Selection Committee may add names to the nomination list but may not exclude from consideration any names submitted by the public. Formal nominations are made using the nomination form prescribed for that purpose and made available to the public. Nomination forms will be available on the Moss Point Sports Hall of Fame website and other locations as determined by the Executive Committee.
The Executive Committee determines and publishes open dates for nominations. All nomination applications are confidential and shared among members of the Selection Committee only. Information relating to any nominee’s career statistics, records, achievements and the like must be supported by appropriate documentation or sources cited so that the information may be verified independently when possible. Once presented as an eligible nominee, a candidate who is not selected will automatically be reconsidered annually for five years. Thereafter, renomination may occur at any time.
