Perkins was the Tigers’ football quarterback and baseball infielder. After graduating, he went to Ole Miss where he lettered in baseball for the years 1962, 1963 and 1964 and served as President of the Business School. He played third base for the 1964 Ole Miss team that won the SEC and played in the College World Series. Upon his return to Moss Point as an adult he was a lifelong active participant in the civic and business life of the community.
