Houston Cunningham

Magnolia High School, 1968 Graduate

Houston Cunningham was a basketball star for Magnolia High School, graduating in 1968. He was the first Black basketball team captain for Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College, and also played for the University of Southern Mississippi Golden Eagles. Houston is a God-made man and a voice for the Kingdom in Moss Point, Miss. (1 Corinthians 5:10). He has been in Christian ministry since 1986 and a pastor since 1990. He is the Founding Pastor of Green Pastures Christian Ministries in Moss Point. Houston is also the current Moss Point Alderman for Ward 1. He formerly served two terms as Moss Point’s Alderman at Large. Houston is an instructor at the Home of Grace, a Christ-centered addiction recovery program in Vancleave, Miss. He has made six trips to Kenya as a missionary, is a youth conference speaker and is active in prison ministries. Houston worked for South Central Bell as a service technician for 17 years. He and his wife of 52 years have four children, ten grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. Houston is a cancer survivor.
