Richard L. Jackson
Moss Point High School, 1983 Graduate
Richard L. Jackson is a 1983 graduate of Moss Point High School, where he was a three-year football letterman, a Blue Chip football player, and a member of the 1980 Coastal Zone Big-8 football championship team. He was the 1982 number two recruited linebacker in Mississippi. Richard received numerous football awards and was recruited by several SEC and other Division I programs. In 1983, he accepted an Ole Miss football scholarship. While at Ole Miss, Richard was the winner of the Strongest Freshman Football Player award. He was a football letterman and M-Club member. Richard finished his football career at Ole Miss in 1987. After serving in the United States Army, Richard began coaching football in San Antonio, Texas, where one of his players, running back Adrian Barnes, signed with the University of Texas Longhorns. Since 1996, Richard has coached, mentored, or trained over 100 football players who have played in the SEC, ACC, C-USA, SWAC, the United States Naval Academy, and numerous junior colleges across the United States. Of those 100 players, ninety percent successfully obtained college degrees. For each of the last eight years, Richard has attended the NFL Scouting Combine as a sports consultant and has had a football player in the NFL Draft every year since 2015. Richard lives by the motto: “Relationships can get you into places that money can’t buy.” He has a blended family and is the father of six and grandfather of ten. He is the fiancé to Kimberly Lee. Richard’s favorite saying is, “Life is great because there is always something to smile about.”
